Guerciottis were first introduced into the USA by Alexi Grewal's dad, Jaskit's, shop in Aspen, CO. That was Sherpa Sports. You can see some of the first ever ads (sparse--only one column wide) which were line drawings of the original headbadge design. They were very attractive but not long lived, as badges go I suppose. The ads were in Bicycling! around 1973. I remember some early ones in the 24" wheel size on the local streets as well-- maybe little Grewals.

Fast forward to 1997, Crested Butte, CO. I was riding with a family from Switzerland whose son was riding for Yeti's MTB team and we got to talking at a B&B where the dad, who was a commercial import/export guy in the fresh flower business, told me of some of his close bike biz friends in Italy who began the Guerciotti nameplate. My ears perked up. I told him how just over those mountains is where the first ones were available in America. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the names, but maybe some of the details may jostle a memory on the list.
