A couple months ago I had asked about an odd local frameset purchase I stumbled upon. I finally got some photos together showing the bike. Not correctly built up, since I don't even know the age anyway, but perhaps someone can give me some clues based on the head tube decal which was the only one on the frameset. It does appear that the chrome is original (even the bottom bracket is very well polished all around). All threads are French of course. No Idea about the tubing but I'm pretty sure the lugs are Bocama Professional. Seat tube is 54cm c-t. Frameset came already drilled and with Weinmann 730 sidepulls attached. The BB is set rather high which makes the bike seem taller, and the rear bridge was set unusually high for a track frame. Fork appears to be a full chrome road fork replacement.

I would welcome any speculation about it's age, or even whether it may truly be a Gitane. In any case, it is a fun ride for zipping around town. The chromed steel 43 cm wide moustache bar offers me a comfortable position for viewing and avoiding traffic.
