While I agree that the restoration issue is not one of right and wrong, I must point out that ethics is in fact, the question of what is right and what is wrong. An ethical issue is by definition a moral issue.

The Yahoo dictionary: http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/ defines ethical as:

Being in accordance with the accepted principles of right and wrong that govern the conduct of a profession. See Synonyms at moral.

Perhaps gholl@optonline.net meant an aesthetic issue
