Sasha, Life is less stressful since I quit worrying about whether I was getting a "Good deal" or "Paying too much".

Now the question I ask myself is; "Will I derive more pleasure from owning this bike than I might from whatever else I might spend an equivalent amount on?" not "Can I get this bike for less than someone else might pay for it?".

I'm a cheap SOB so I still try to get the best price I can. But in the end it's "What's it worth TO ME?".

Lots of elements go into what a bike might be worth to one person vs. another. Fit - bank balance - do you already have something similar? etc. Even color; As a Green Bay Packers fan in Minnesota, I was willing to pay more for my green and yellow Taylor than if it had been Viking purple.

I might be willing to part with more $$$ than you for this bike, because as a student of the framebuilding art I find the story of the 3 brothers working together for 6 decades fascinating, I don't have anything similar and I've got a thing for British bikes of all sorts. OTOH You might be willing to part with more $$$ than me for this bike, because you may be more interested in a go-fast bike while I'm more into touring bikes and roadsters.

But unless it's an auction all this is moot.

With a bike like a Taylor I think this is especially true. They built a huge variety of different bikes and components and condition vary widely. There isn't much data available on selling price of of what realtors call "Comparables".
