I guess we shouldn't really be surprised by what happens on eBay these days, but I tend to agree, for the most, with Charles. I think the frame is an SL rather than an SLX frame, which might make it a little more desirable. And I think the color adds to the value as well (and I like it). The 130 rear spacing (if it is original, and I suspect it is) points to the mid-to-late 80's. I sold a slightly older SL De Rosa here on the list a year or so ago. Similar size, in black, with some unusual details (such as cable stops rather than shift bosses on the down tube). It was in at least as nice shape as the one in question, if not nicer. I believe I posted it to the list with an asking price of $350 shipped. I had a flood of offers almost immediately, so I think it may have been worth more, but probably not triple. But that's to people here on the list who are chea....uh, more discriminating.

Did everyone catch this:

This was just your basic 80s De Rosa built of SLX with cast lugs..shouldn't be worth more than about 350 on the used market, I would think. These are quite commonly seen.
So I'm a little perplexed at the final price. Seems awfully high. Anyone care to comment?
