Subject: [CR]Photos: dating Ellis-Briggs SpeedStream bike?

I have posted some quickly taken photos of a recently acquired Ellis-Briggs 'Favori' brand bike built in 531 SpeedStream:

The person that sold me the bike (the original owner) dated the frame at 1976, but that sounds early for an aero tubed bike. The Super Record rear mech is from 1977 but could easily pre-date the frame.

You'll see that the frame is currently wearing an eclectic mix of parts. I'd like to fit it out with period correct parts reflecting the aero intention of the frame - so would like to establish whether it really does date back to 1976 or it's in fact from the early eighties. Which, for example, would help decide whether Shimano AX parts would be appropriate.

Do you know of any online sources about this early aero era?

Thanks,
