Subject: [CR]Response to Norris on the Doucheron

Hi Norris, Please take into consideration that I don't have the depth of knowledge of these frames that you have, probably not many do. By calling the frame a Doucheron, I was relying on Mike's representation and what he had written on a card that accompanied the frame. I also didn't know that "constructour" had a specific definition when it came to dropouts. The point I was trying to make is that they were not name brand production like Campagnolo or Simplex. The English bikes that I have that use Nervex Pro Lugs have a minimal number of braze on's, almost none. That was my reference. In any event I was stating the obvious and giving credit to the French builders. What I was trying to do Norris was write an eBay ad and not a technical description and provide a measure of entertainment. I didn't set out to offend any purists, nor embellish the description with anything that couldn't be gleaned from the photographs. Recognize that there is a difference in perceptions and understanding that people like yourself, with a great deal of highly specific knowledge, have and those of us that know little but can still appreciate the item. Don't be so hard on us we still contribute.
