I've also got a 1981 Moser, mine was a team bike of Famcucine rider Gregor Braun:

Mine is SL, if I remember correctly. It's got a 60cm c-c seat tube. You can see the tubing decal here:

Note the crazy pantographing on the crank, too!
Here's something I wrote, when I first got it:

The one I have has diamond-shaped chain stays. I've separately heard that either De Rosa or Benotto (Italy) may have built the earliest Mosers. Francesco Moser was captain of the Famcucine team in 1981, and I think the Moser bicycle company was founded in 1980 or 1981, so it would make sense that he might not have had his own fabrication facility yet. When I got mine, it was missing the saddle and had mismatched low-end wheels, (with the name of previous owner #2 on them) and Look pedals. The Unicanitor was a guess. I replaced the ratty cables and housing. I believe all else to be original. If I can figure out what kind of saddle Braun used, I'll put one on this bike. I got it from someone who got it from someone who got it from him. All three previous owners were in Germany. I am hoping to get a letter from Herr Braun, explaining it's his bike. Mine just has a "2" on the BB.
I just picked up a used Famcucine jersey on ebay that fits me. I'll try to bring the bike and jersey on the next Bay Area retro ride. If any of you want a size 2 Famcucine wool jersey, let me know.
Thanks again to Aldo Ross for the scans of Francesco Moser and Gregor Braun. The signed postcard is one I picked up on ebay. It matches the bike I've got, down to the white dot of paint inside the fork crown cutout, which seems to be the same paint used for the "BRAUN" on the top tube.
