Subject: [CR]External Front Rack Brackets on Forks

Actually, its for any bracket on frame or forks. I found nice SS rubber enclosed brackets, for a front rack to adapt to my older bike (or anything like an extra water bottle, etc...); but was wondering about rain catching in the top of the bracket and collecting in small canal between frame and rubber edge.

Is there some type of small (black-?) elastic sock you can put over the top clamp edge to divert water from collecting on top of rubber bracket edges?

I know most of you may have newer bikes after Nixon was impeached, but this is an advanced bike audience and was hoping some creative ideas may be shared. Brazing stops, even if powder coat later, is not an option since want to keep tubes oem as designed.

This problem had to have come up in the last 36 years, and had a reasonable alternative for the best brackets available.

Thanks,
