There's currently a major Hopper retrospective traveling around, which includes that painting. I saw it at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts a couple of months ago, but it ended in August.

The exhibition travels to the National Gallery of Art in Washington (Sept. 16 through Jan. 21, 2008) and the Art Institute of Chicago (Feb. 16 through May 11, 2008).

This was a great show. I had, like most people, mainly known Hopper from _Nighthawks_ which I had seen a few times out in Chicago, where it normally resides. I had not realized the wide range of Hopper's work until I saw the show at the MFA.

You can see this image at http://www.nga.gov/exhibitions/2007/hopper/timeline/timeline.shtm by scrolling along to 1938.

The note says it's from a private collection, of Barney A. Ebsworth
