Subject: [CR]Price Guides

Having followed the subject the last couple of days I can only recollect th is subject had been a fierce debate a few years ago. At that time I also belie ve then was no real compromise among members views.

My views on the subject amounts to the same as then , I see no justified need for such a guide , the experienced know the approx. values and those newcomers can learn by seeking advice from these folk off list or like many

of us hardened collectors we use our own discretion pay what we can afford.

My views are also well known on the subject of inflated prices both on E.Ba y and the mark up price by dealers. Many the time I have been astounded by the high cost which good honest folk have paid for certain items. I full y understand the shortage of supplies the folk in the USA and Canada have in obtaining certain items. This is why it must leave many folk spendin g out more than than really afford for goods that are seemingly overpriced.

As many listers know I have sold parts off and on for several years now which I always considered a fair price , many times for less than the cost I originally paid. So with the knowledge my buyers have always been satisfied , I for one would not want to use by any price guide of any description espec ially if it was made out by the folks whom are seeking a large profit!!
