Subject: [CR]Yesterday a bargain did materialize

A lovely Sarranoni red Colnago in a reasonable 53 cm size sold yesterday for less than $700. The frame was unmangled and the paint was a re-do in wonderful condition. The bargain here came because a built in prejudice against Omega 80's parts. The Omega rear derailleur was an attractive version of a Campy Victory. The Crank was Omega too and a good looking one at that. The brakes were Universal which I have to say have no particular appeal for me, but I understand that at the very least they are functional. I could have handled the Omega parts but the Universal brakes would have had to come off. All in all it was a bargain in a severely overvalued market. Any opinions on how much it would have gone for with all NR and near perfect original paint? ... $1,000? 1,200? an hours' federal budget for the war in Iraq?
