Subject: [CR]A 753 mystery resolved

I recently became the owner of John Pergolizzi's 753 Team Raleigh. And I have to confess, the first thing I did was strip the frame of components and weigh it.

3lb, 8oz. or 1580g and that is with the fixed BB cup still installed.

As for the seat post. The ID of the tube checks out at just under or right at 27.0mm. The 27.2 post that came with it is a rather snug fit in my opinion. I am looking for a 27.0mm, or should I consider 26.8mm? . Seat tube a hair over 28.0mm, the TT a hair over 26.0mm.

My initial reaction was to refinish in Team colors, but upon seeing other Teams in a solid color, I think I will leave it as is. The finish is just too nice to remove for no good reason. And I blew my bike budget for a while. LOL. I do plan to place some Raleigh markings on it as I see on the other monochrome bikes. I have some Campag SR cranks to use on it until I find some in better condition. The Ofmega CX triple will be for sale, but not yet. I won't be home to ship it for a while.
