In the catalogs or flyers of the period Carlsbad Masi offered such items as water bottle cage or top tube cable braze ons as a $10 option. My feeling is that by the early 1970s one could get pretty much what they wanted on many bikes.
Off to Henry Ford Museum today with my grandson to see the Noguchi/Buckminster Fuller exhibit and maybe a few bikes, too.
