Dale,

The way to get those nice big images in an eBay auction is to use your own photo hosting service, rather than eBay's photo service. As you know, eBay's photo service limits you to 12 rather small pics, and even the "larger size" option leaves much to be desired.

In the case of this beautiful Bianchi, the seller keeps his photo files on a commercial photo hosting service, which specifically caters to eBay sellers, called Andale. For example, here is one of the auction photos, in the Andale site:

http://images.andale.com/f2/115/106/11432765/2007/10/28/bianch_phil_004.jpg

Basically, when the seller created his eBay description, instead of using the eBay photo service, he created a page with all the photos he wanted to included in his listing. This is really the same thing you do when you create a page with photos for the CR site.

By doing this, a listing can have as many photos as you want, and the photos can be just about any size you want.

In the case of the Bianchi, the seller chose a size of 1280 x 960 pixels, which is as big as you can have without the image being too big for most folks' monitors. I prefer to use 1,024 x 768, which is plenty big, but will still fit in most monitors, including laptops.

I hope I explained this OK. Let me know if you have any questions.

PS - I believe it was Bill Talbot who won the auction, not Kevin Kruger. And may I add, that I agree with Otis, this is one of those great deals that can still be had on eBay.

I agree that was a splendid buy, congrats Kevin!

Also, noticing that particular auction, how does one insert those pics so nice and large in an eBay auction? Is that an ancillary service, or?

Thanks Dale

Congratulations to list member Bill Talbot on the purchase of the 64 Bianchi Specialissima sold on eBay tonight!!! In my opinion, a great bike for a very reasonable price!!!

Can't wait to hook up with Bill for an East-Coast 1964 Bianchi ride.

Regards, Kevin Kruger -

Seems like an exceptional value! Maybe more appropriate for the "deals on ebay" thread from a few days ago. Much better deal then a carved up Pog to my eyes.

Enjoy it Bill.
