Thank so far to everyone who answered. It looks as if my tools were "old" :) I will add some pictures the next days (my camera is lost), to get some informations concerning the date.

Brian Baylis (La Mesa, CA) wrote about the dieffernces in the wood box. Sadly I have got now wood box for my tools. Is anyone in the list, who has

Max,

Do you have the entire tool case? If so, the older (early 70's and older b oxes themselves are made entirely of wood. There is no plastic insert with all of the tool compartments cast into it. The compartments were all made of blocks of wood glued to the inside of the box bottom. I have noticed t hat the background pattern where the lettering "Campagnolo" appears was a "crosshatch" pattern of lines; whereas the newer version has a "dimpled" t ype of background. The older "H" tools will not have the 3rd spacer that a llows one to check rear dropout spacing of 126.5 mm AND 120mm spacing.

A few photos would help. It sounds like you may have some even older tools that the ones from the early 70's that I'm somewhat familier with.

Hello Listmembers, below is my last mail. Can no body help me dating my tools somehow? Thanks and best regards, Max Herrmann Germany, Berlin

Hello Bikelist, I have some campagnolo frame and fork tools. How can I date them? Are there any small differences within the years at the tools?

They look "old", have not the shiny touch of some newer campy tools I know

and they were stamped with the campysun... Any informations for dating them? Thanks and all the best,
