I have always removed grips however dry or tight, by putting a fair dose washing up liquid on a bluntish screwdriver, and wiggling it gently in a couple of inches, then around by mild and limited criss-cross movement as much as allowed by nuisances like brake levers. Then, wiggle it in a few more inches, and around again. Regularly try rotating the grip, without removing the screwdiver, otherwise you have to wiggle it all the way back in again. After all this the wiggling act is performed, hopefully without having perforated the rubber, rinse the rubber in plenty of water. And the bars too, of course. In fact, any liquid lubicant would do, it's just that washing up liquid is easier to wash off with water, and washes your grip, bars and tool at the same time.

ps: you run two risks: perforating the grip, and scratching the bars, so care is required.

I have a pair of grips that I need to take off without ruining them. Any
