I have a 1986 annual and it shows the La Vie Clair team using Hinault badged steel frames, alluminum glued frames (Allen/Vitus?) with both Hinault and LOOK badging and white LOOK badged steel frames. They were all using Campagnolo C-Record with the Cobalto brakes. There are picts of Hinault and Hampsten using steel "funney" bikes for time trials at the Tour -I would think they used those for the flat TT stages and the alluminum conventional frames for the hilley TTs.
