That is exactly like a bike I sold as a Merckx dealer in 1973-4. I have mentioned this earlier in this forum in reference to Kessels.

The Merckx line up of bikes at that time were made by Falcon but being bike boom time, apparently the importers turned to Kessels to fill the pipeline. I bet there were not more than a few dozen at most, but nonetheless they were quite different from the Falcon. The "file up" of the lugs was at a higher level, the seat stays were 16 mm (big!) and the geometry was a bit more aggressive....

Now if I could just remember who I sold that bike to....

Tons of great photos of what truly appears to be an original unmolested Molteni bike (obviously someone removed the toe clips/straps)!!!
