Well what a thread. I use fixed wheel as well. An old peugeot I rescued from the local tip. Its not a track frame though I would love to find one(hint). I

use fixed wheel as part of my training exercise. A 49x 17 fast pedalling and on rollers to teach me balance. I used to race grass track in the Uk when I was a schoolboy. I am an ex pat and now live in Southern Sweden. 54 as well and I can still churn out 23 ins for a

ten mile time trial. I enjoy the way a fixed wheel teaches souplesse as the French call it. I also have brakes on this machine. I believe that a fixed wheel is an intrinsic part of any serious cyclists arsenal of weapons to be used to improve form. I soend a lot of time on my Cannondale Black Lightning, to my mind one of the best machines (frames) ever made. Yes I know its Aluminium but it is a beauty.

Thought I would have my say as well for what its worth.

Kind regrds
