the last road bike i shipped cost about $35, to ship from texas to CA. i left the rear wheel in. put a plastic thing in the dropouts of the fork, ziptied pipe insulation to the the main triangle and the left side seat and chain stay. ziptied the front wheel to that side. took the bars out and slid them in front of the headtube. seat and pedals went in a small box that was under the BB of the bike. original quote was about $85, i found a box that was just a little shorter or narrower or something and that dropped it down one oversize category and it saved $50 for the buyer. the frame size was 58cm.

my friend had a gazelle frame and fork shipped from denmark from an ebay seller. it arrived with a HUGE dent in the top tube right by the headtube lug. poor frame. ruined. the seller refunded his money. don't think the shipper was anyone from the list. the frame was basically thrown in the box and shipped. i think something fell on it. the headtube was poking out of hte box upon arrival i believe.
