Subject: [CR]Interchangeability of Road and BMX cranks

I've always liked the Sugino Might Tour, with the handy 110 (I think) BCD circle that allows a nice choice of rings for touring. But I've been outbid on eBay a couple of times for these. There is currenly on eBay a SunTour Vx BMX crank, which looks like it may be the same basic arms as Sugino Mighty Tour. A number of established manufacturers, including Campy, seem to have jumped into the BMX and MTB markets with essentially the same arms as their road cranks, but often with colored anodized finishes. A BMX would only use a single chainring, but what is the chance that a SunTour Vx, or some other classic design packaged for BMX might retain the shoulder for the inner ring, and therefore be usable as a road crank?
