Well. Looks like Robert Broderick is absolutely correct about the 3TTT saddle. Thanks for passing along the fine corroborating catalog details and photos. I must admit I am surprised that seals have the coarse pores which I assume would be from thick hairs. I feel dumb confessing this, but I somehow always imagined seals had smooth slick skins.
My own saddle was not in fact made by 3TTT, and the suede was brown in color, and clearly smelled like pig skin. It was also a less costly model than I'm sure the 3TTT was. It as also definitely very uncomfortable. I traded it to a friend years later, after I had put VERY few miles on it.
These days, I'm happy to rest my butt on any genuine hide, exotic or not... so long as it's not the hyde of the "Nauga".
