No, Dernys do not have a roller - just a wraparound rear guard. I have one which is very similar to the one pictured - this is a proper Entraineur - these were used on the track (paced racing), on paced massed start races (Bordeaux\u2013Paris etc) and for training on the road and track. Derny also made machines for touring on and also Derny tandems for touring - these turn up on French Ebay reasonably often. There is a very good history of Derny in issue 161 of The Boneshaker, I have copies of this for sale if anybody is interested at $12 a copy plus shipping.
