Do you have the entire tool case? If so, the older (early 70's and older boxes themselves are made entirely of wood. There is no plastic insert with all of the tool compartments cast into it. The compartments were al l made of blocks of wood glued to the inside of the box bottom. I have n oticed that the background pattern where the lettering "Campagnolo" appe ars was a "crosshatch" pattern of lines; whereas the newer version has a "dimpled" type of background. The older "H" tools will not have the 3rd spacer that allows one to check rear dropout spacing of 126.5 mm AND 12 0mm spacing.
A few photos would help. It sounds like you may have some even older too ls that the ones from the early 70's that I'm somewhat familier with.

Are there any small differences within the years at the tools?
They look "old", have not the shiny touch of some newer campy tools I kn ow
