Your friend should consider trading with EC. The Cinelli for a Stratocaster verifiably used by him to record or perform. He could then sell the guitar to me...(insert smiley face) Jay Van De Velde Seal Beach, CA

He needs to recreate the decals so we're hoping to find pics that show the bike a little more. He thinks there may be a good photo in a Tour of Italy annual 1969-1978 published by the Kennedy Brothers, in case anybody has those. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I don't know if this has been discussed before, but my friend tells me that Ernesto Colnago launched the Colner line in order to get around a rule at the time that limited a manufacturer to sponsorship of a single team. Has anybody heard this before?

Lastly, the Eric Clapton annecdote. This same friend owns one of Clapton's ex-Cinellis (an early 80s SC with "Slowhand" panto'd on the stem). He happened to meet the man who is ghosting Clapton's memoirs, and mentioned it. The writer mentioned it to Clapton, and Clapton sent word saying he'd like to buy back the bike!

Who knew Eric Clapton had so muchin common with us. Of course by "us" I mean the many guys who regret selling a bike and wish we could buy it back.
