The wraparound seatstays and chromed lugs don't look very French, at least not high-volume french. One might say English, except the post size doesn't fit. What kind of bike would look a little French, a little English and a little Italian? I'm guessing Swiss. Allegro? Mondia? Cilo? The threading might tell the story.

Any ideas? I am thinking it's a high end LeJeune or Stella judging from the treatment of the chromed lugs and the seat post size. Nice build details. And not just another '80s bike, either but rather older.
