Fred mentioned the Schwalbe Milano tubulars having traditional buff sidewalls. They do indeed. That and their low price are the only virtu es, trust me. I went through like four of these rubbish tyres in a week due to the usual problem with cheap sew-ups: broken casings. Very disappointing as Schwalbe wire-on tyres are excellent quality. My recommendation for cheapish, traditional sew-ups are Tufo Jet-Pros which wear like iron, uber
easy to use with the Tufo tape and, best of all, they are very thin (19 mm ) profile. I guess I am the only one who cannot abide fat, plump and juicy
sew-ups. I prefer 'em lean 'n mean.
