A clincher from that period, which I felt was even nicer than the Dunlops, was made by Hutchinson. Those were also marked 27 x 1 1/4, although they surely must have also sold a 700c version. Anyway, those Hutchinsons were the first clinchers I'd ever seen which closely resembled a tubular in any real sense.
