Seems we all have different remembrances about these. I remember they rim cut in a blink (So maybe thats what the boot comment related to) About 1975 or so I had a chance to buy a NOS Carlton Pro plus maybe 20 of those tires still wrapped up from Hennie Koolhover at his shop way out on Lincoln (Lincoln Cyclery) in San Francisco. I wanted the bike but didnt want those tires (who knew??) but $250 was a weeks pay then. I recall he just used them as replacement tires on bikes he would repair.
