Dr. Paul,

More important than the year you need to consider the stack height of the frame and what model of Campy headset will be suitable. Of the day, there was the Record Strada (steel), the Super Record (aluminum), and the Pista (steel). They all are suitable for a bike of that vintage if they fit, and they all have different stack heights. Sight unseen I'd assume you need the steel Record rather than the Super Record, but you'd have to describe what you have.

You also need to measure the difference between the head tube length and the steer tube length. That number will tell you what stack height you require. Ideally this number will match the stack height of the headset.

Hi, I am looking to buy a Campy headset, period correct for my 1975 Pogliaghi. It needs to be in condition 7 or better on a 0 to 10 scale. Thanks, Paul -- Paul J. Wilson Cell (408) 395-2020, Temecula, California>>(951) 587-3632, San Jose, California
