Subject: [CR]For Sale - 1973 to 1977 Record Front Derailleur

Offered for sale to this List is one Campagnolo Record front derailleur - 2 8.6 mm clamp-on - alloy body and hinged clamp with steel cage - post 1967 w ithout cable stop - post 1972 with enlarged pivot post housings - post 1972 with circlip on upper pivot - pre 1978 non C.P.S.C. "flat" style outer cag e plate - model 1052/1.

This is a very lightly used unit that is in remarkably good condition from a cosmetic standpoint \u2026 BUT \u2026 there is a faint hairline crack along the top inside connector between the inner and outer cage plates and another o dd line on the back side of the inner cage plate itself about an inch and a quarter from its most rearward point. I had known about the latter anomal y when I began to strip, clean, re-grease, and rebuild this component in pr eparation for its use on a bike of my own, but I did not discover that hair line crack until midway through that process. At this point in time, this front derailleur has effectively been completely rebuilt and I am of the op inion that despite the aforementioned maladies it should still function per fectly (...in fact, if this unit fails due to said crack anytime within a p eriod of one year from its purchase, I will refund all monies exchanged, in cluding shipping, upon return of the broken derailleur itself). That said, I offer no guarantees that one will ever again be able to completely disas semble this component without having that cage assembly break into two piec es.

As alluded to previously, cosmetically this front derailleur appears to be in near mint condition with nominal wear to the cage plates, perfect chrome , no mangled nuts, bolts, or screw heads, and not so much as a speck of dir t or grime to be found. Even if you are overly wary of that hairline crack and place no faith in my opinion as to the viability of this component, th e near NOS state of the individual piece parts that can be scavenged here w ould seem to me to beworth the price being asked.

Priced at $30.00 USD plus shipping at cost (...figure a bargain at $5.00 US D for domestic USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation).
