I've used Campag, Avocet, and TA. In general, my preference runsto the 86 mm BCD sets: Stronglight 99 (107, too, I guess) and their clone, the SR Apex. Now, I don't know the 107, but I've been conscious of two different cranks that I have called 99. Same circle, but the pre -82 ones use a Stronglight 23.35mm puller, but look nice. The later ones use the industry-standard 22 mm instead, and also can be identified because the "arms" are a bit narrower than the roots of the chainrings, so the eye sees a bump-out instead of a continuous line. these are still reasonably widely available, and pretty darned robust - except for the fairly soft alloy of the rings.

The TA cyclotoursit and Stronglight 49d, with their narrow bolt circle, require removing the pedal and the crank to change chainrings. This is not necessary with the 86 mm BCD stuff, which I regard as a pretty decent advantage.

Haven't received it yet, but Sutherlands says that it uses, thankfully, an 86 mm inner circle, the same as the widely available Stronglight 99. Does anyone know what sort of mounting hardware one needs for the mod 107 triple? Will Avocet hardware work?
