I haven't seen many fixed gear bikes- none perhaps???- in Italy, at least in Tuscany/Umbria. There are cool old bikes in all the river towns and cities though. In the hill towns, understandably not so much. Pisa is very good for bike spotting, as are Livorno and Lucca nearby.

A Cinelli Super Corsa from maybe the 50's--with flat bars and a milk crate atop the rear rack; Wolsits, Frejus, Ideor similarly outfitted--these were all in Pisa. In Florence we were waiting to cross a street at afternoon rush hour, saw a tall older man approaching on a yellow bike--a yellow Colnago Master about ten years old with flat bars!
