I had Bob Freeman convert a Campagnolo strada crankarm to a triple just last week and it looks fabulous. I went with a bog-standard BCD 74mm 32 tooth TA ring, but it appears there's plenty of room for smaller. It looks much cleaner and nicer to me than a "real" Record triple with its portly granny ring and the common BCD is obviously much more practical.
What I need to finish the conversion is a triple spindle for my French thread Record bottom bracket. I have both thin and thick wall cupsets I can use so- if I am reading my Campagnolo BB chart right- I think I can use spindles with either the 49mm or 55mm center section. I really don't much care what brand or model the spindle is, just something that will fit and work. Bob Freeman told me there are spindles from a number of manufacturers that will work. Even just information on what specifically will fit and what won't would be hugely appreciated.
Anyone got a spindle that'll work or know what exactly will?
