Truly one of the great uber annoying aspects of this hobby... thanks to Greg Softley in Australia, Nick at Lloyds etc. we have the once tedious matter of decals sorted to an extent. But why, oh why, is cycle paint su ch a needless mystery? How many machines have already been matched to exist ing auto enamels? Thousands. But do the refinishers ever think of SELLING touch up paint for the say 25-30 typical lightweight colours? Of course not! T hat would be too facile. They don't want you to touch it up when they can st rip off a far more valuable original finish and start over. And make more mo ney of course..
The list, off the top of my head, would include Bianchi celeste, Falcon racing blue, Molteni orange, Rudge maroon, Raleigh platinum mist and international green, Cinelli silver, Masi persimmon or whatever that weird
orange-red is, Holdsworth orange, Gitane team blue, Peugeot white and pear l white, Motobecane racing orange etc. etc. Sure you can't stock 'em all but you can at least make a start! Charge the usual $14.50 for a tiny bottle
with a brush that auto re-touch paint costs and get on with it....
