Indeed. I recently set out to match some paint on an late 80's Eddy Merckx frame. I found a paint supply store that offered the "computer match" service John mentions. Sadly, they couldn't get a satisfactory amount of surface area as the machine needed a 2" square for the scanner to calculate a match. Something to consider if you debating going with a supplier that offers that service.
