Info I have is that Benotto moved his operations from Italy to Mexico in 1970, but continued to have his top-of-the-line frames made in Padova, Italy into the 80s. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL

Sorry, this may be slightly out of the date range, but I wont know until I ask.
I picked up a neat little made in Mexico Benotto Model 2000 this weekend for a very good price. An especially good deal for me since it has a set of new pedals I was going to have to buy at roughly what I paid for the bike. It has Ishitawa 019 tubing and some fairly old looking Shimano 600 components mixed with Campy Record stuff and Universal '77 brakes.
Can anyone tell me when Benotto moved to Mexico?
Is there a reference anywhere that can date the bike based on the tubing decals or 600 headset or anything?
Thanks, Matt Hamilton Oakland, Ca
