"Based on info from folks building with 953 - there isn't any significant weight savings over other super steel sets that have been on the market for some time - so no stainless bullet here. Maybe just a shinier one.

hi gang,
and I think I read that a 953 frame is about 0.5 pounds lighter than an 853 frame. As much as a 953 frame would be very cool, there's not a lot of payoff for the extra expense. Of course, 953 *is* shiny, and that's worth something! :-)

has everyone seen Bob Brown's 953 frame?? Very, very shiny, and some delightfully fancy lugwork! Take a gander here:

just scroll down a little bit. The seat cluster is very tidy and attractive, and the head tube badge is a nice contrast of surface finish.
enjoy!
