Subject: [CR]More FD that accommodates triple/half-step??

I was surprised to hear any criticism of half step gearing set ups. When they are not perfectly set up they can be a pain, for sure. Once they are tuned in, though, they are the very pinnacle of friction shifting in my experience. I have had better luck with Shimano Deore than Campagnolo on these, but the old Deore on my Mooney shifts so precisely and crisply that one might mistake it for indexing. I seldom need to trim more than a couple of times on a 30 or 40 mile ride. Friction shifting doesn't get much better
than this, folks.
