Brian,
How late was the portacaneta drop-out offered? I have a Mondonico with this hole, and I've thought the frame was OT. However, your comment suggests it might be as early as 1978.

Jimmy,
Cycleart did paint the Sachs bikes for a period of time back about that time. I think the portacatina shows up around 1977. 126mm rear hub spacing appears around 1978 or so I believe, which explains why the portacatina only lasted a very short time.

I just received a late 70's Richard Sachs frameset and was wondering if cycleart was Richards painter from the 70's? I have never owned one of his bikes but i did know Joe Bell paints his recent frames. This frame seems to have original paint but not 100% sure and it does have a cycleart decal on it. It also has campy short drops with the campy portacatina holes, when did this hanger come into production? Thanks for any help, Jimmy K
