Dale, Can he say that on CR?? In relation to stand over and touching top tubes?? Racy. Tom, on larger frames like what you and I ride I have found what I like. A 62.5 c/c seat tube at 72'. A 60 c/c top tube. A 10 stem. seat height is 83. Chainstays are 43 c/c with normal slotted dropouts. Wheelbase is then practical 103/104. BB drop of 8cm for stableness. I think any bike with a 12/13 stem steers like wood (too slow) and when you stand up you launch all your weight over the front axle and can do a nose wheelie. A large frame usually entails a large person, so more weight with higher CG need low BB and long WB for nice ride and downhills. I am still stunned at folks who demand 40cm chainstays for "power transfer" and they can't run 25c tires or the seat tube is jacked. My custom Pegorettis with 43 chainstays transfer enough power for me and I can run 72 or even 71 seat angle with larger tires. But when you ride a Pegoretti you don't have to impress anyone. Dario refers to them as City Bikes since my first one in 1996.
