Neil - I don't find your email address attached to this exchange, but perhaps others will be interested, too.
In the 1970s, I did a good bit of trade with R.E.W.Reynolds, 159-161 Wellingborough, Northampton. A wonderful supplier for those of us in places like Texas, where proper shoes, parts, sew-ups, etc were hard to find. Very patient, very fair, and a pleasure to deal with in those pre-internet days.
Is the shoemaker the same Reynolds, or was R.E.W. likely buying shoes (made to order) from the other Mr. Reyds, in Milton Keynes?
Although I don't recall whether I actually ordered a pair of these, we all felt that the British lasts fit better than the Italian ones, which seemed to have only two dimensions: length and height. And I was never sure about the latter. :-) thanks,

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ As far as I'm aware, Pete Salisbury stopped making cycling shoes some time ago. However, Reynolds, of 5 Selbourne Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, MK3 5BX are still making traditional, leather-soled cycling shoes. I have two pairs, one black and one brown, and they're excellent. They're good people to deal with, too.
