Dear all,
after putting in some really hard work (internet and me - don´t go
together well) I managed to crack the Wooly Code today and uploaded
many new and some old photos. The new URL is
http://www.wooljersey.com/
I have not counted them, but I think there are some 120 photos, many of
them high resolution, many of them taken and all processed by my eleven
year old son Johannes. Here´s to youth, especially when mad about both
computers and cycling. I am under orders to mention that Johannes used
his G4 Quicksilver Apple Mac in the operation, of which he is understandably proud.
Anyway, it´s been more than two years that I´ve had new photos on the site, so a lot has happened. I acquired new old bikes in four countries, for one (the Chesini Arena) I actually ventured right into the middle of Amsterdam with my Citroen 2CV van. Nearly ended up in a canal, but boy, was it worth it. For one other, the Gazelle AA Special
with some unmentionable groupset, I had to wait for several years. The
Merckx has not been used much but has been kept in a smoker´s living
room for 20 years. Funny colour, that, nicotine brown over pearl white.
Let´s see how I´ll get it clean.
Many of the bikes of old standing have been improved, or so I like to think. Some bikes, of course, have vanished, but that´s how it goes.
Two or three bikes have changed already since we´ve taken the photos,
but there´ll be an update soon, now that I know how to send pictures
from Germany to California through a wire.
There are no captions because I wrote some explanations directly onto some photos.
I have to find out yet how to group the pictures for easy navigation. For now there is just a mass of photos in which one has to wallow, but
I´m optimistic that I´ll manage to do something about that eventually.
As always, I´m grateful for any suggestions how to improve both bikes
and gallery, and of course for the great forum Morgan affords all (now
more than 150!) participants in wooljersey.
Lastly, but importantly, I still use very slow internet at home and was
allowed to use the high-speed connection at work to upload the wooly pictures. So please don´t send any photos to my e-mail address.
Regards, Toni Theilmeier, Belm, Germany, where we started the season
last weekend in brilliant spring weather.
