I'm with you Dave. The seller appears misinformed. The stamping on the seat-stay caps looks exactly like that on a 1980s Colnago tandem... they probably used the same oversized seat-stays for this bike, and had the cap to match. The lugs suggest 1983-1985. Also, early Colnago pistas have a distinctive fork-crown, not in evidence on this bike.
