I have to disagree with this. I scored a pair of Contis at the St Louis bike swap. The box was marked 27 inch, but the tag the shop had on them said 700x22. So thinking just what Mark wrote, bought them. I tried putting them on two wheels. After much stretching and creative language, I knew there was no way they would go on. I measured the circumference vs the circumference of a different model Conti tubular that I am able to mount. It was 3 inches less. Clearly there is a difference. I was able to get some Dedas in exchange, so it all came out well.
