Subject: [CR]Motobecane Head Badge, etc.?

Hello, All:

Back after 4+ years.

Thanks in advance for fielding these questions.

Does anyone out there know the origin and/or graphic meaning behind the Motobecane "1923" head badge with the two streaking heads facing inward by the large, red "M"?

Sheldon Brown guessed it was Gaul warriors. Anybody have anything more concrete?

Also, does anyone know where in France the bikes were built?

Any websites in the US or France or anywhere else dedicated to the classic Motobecane bicycles (not the motorcycles and scooters nor MBK bicycles).

And, yes, I am aware that some great guys in Dallas have revived the brand as a US company like Raleigh and Reynolds. Well done by them. Very true to the old French brand.

Okay, have at it. Again, I appreciate any help here.

Sincerely,

Bob Fulghum (ful-jum) prairieparis@yahoo.com Chicagoland USA
