I have a Peugeot I build up two years ago of that timespan too having the same threads. I got it as a frame with BB, seat post (steel chrome) and fork installed with headset. When finding out it was french I got a nice suntour superbe BB marked 35 ironically from a guy in Switzerland. When trying to install it it turned out the fixed cup was left-threaded (Swiss if i did not get this wrong) So I stayed with the original cup and just used an different axle. The bike serves me well as daily around town with kid and trailer bike. So it might be a german/european Peugeot thing.....

It's hard to say. I have an early 1980s PGN-10 (that's the version made from Reynolds 501 rather than 531) and it's Swiss threaded too. Plus, although the steerer has French threading, the inner diameter is 22.2mm. All of this points to a Swiss made bike, but the insignias on the frame said "Made In France".
But I've seen earlier versions of their second-tier frames - i.e. PF-10s - that had British threads. I'm refering to late 1970s bikes. So what does this all mean? I wish I knew... Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
