Pic of the Day 24 March, 2007 "Moser Before Francesco"
I've posted this pic before under a different heading, but it is perhaps worth revisiting in light of recent discussions about "Moser".
The image is from the 1961 Tour of Lombardy, and the riders shown are
Franco Balmamion (leading), Bruno Mealli, Anatole Novak (Alcyon), Aldo
Moser (Ghigi), Carlo Brugnami (Torpado), and Edgard Sorgeloos (Faema).

Francesco Moser's older brother Aldo had a long professional career (1954-1973) which overlapped the careers of such riders as Bartali, Coppi, Louison Bobet, Anquetil, Poulidor, Gimondi, Merckx. He won the Barracchi Trophy two years in a row, with Ercole Baldini, in 1958 and 1959.
Just look at the list of teams for which Aldo rode:
Torpado (1954-1956) Leo - Chlorodont (1957) Cali Broni - Girardengo (1958) EMI (1959-1960) VOV et Ghigi (1961) San Pellegrino (1962 - 1963) Lygie (1964) Maino (1965) Vittadello (1966-1967) Pepsi-Cola (1968) GBC (1969-1972) Filotex (1973) (with younger brother Francesco in his first year as a pro)
That would make one COOL collection of jerseys!
