I have a tangential question: These brakes have *PATENT* stamped on the brake-bolt fitting that holds the spring. Am I mistaken here, or is it the case that the *PATENT* stamp on the brake bolt came later, and the earlier brakes were stamped *BREV. CAMP* on the brake bolt? Or were both stamps used simultaneously? A set of no-stamp brakes I have here, have *BREV. CAMP* stamped on the bolt...arguing for that as the earlier stamp..(duh)... I will say that pre-CPSC short-reach calipers do not seem to be as common as the longer-reach calipers. This might also account for the price, a little, anyway.
